Spicy Italian Pizza Recipe
Ready in about 26 minutes, Serves: 3-4
Ingredients:
- 1 cup shredded cottage cheese
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tbsp. fresh basil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. red pepper, crushed
- 1 tbsp. fresh basil
- 1 14-inch pre-cooked pizza dough, store-bought
- 2 slices of Genoa salami
- 10 pieces of pepperoni, small & thin
- 2 slices of Capocollo salami
- ½ cup Italian sausage (hot), ground and cooked
- ½ cup chopped banana peppers
- ½ cup grated mozzarella, part-skim
- Fresh basil leaves to garnish
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Pour the small olive oil into the pizza dough and set it aside.
- Blend the garlic, basil, cottage cheese, salt, crushed red pepper, and olive oil until smooth in the high-speed blender.
- Spread cottage cheese mixture evenly across the top of the pizza, staying within 14 inches of the edges.
- Distribute the leftover ingredients evenly, from meats to peppers, on top of the pizza. Finally, sprinkle with shredded mozzarella.
- Bake for 14 minutes on a pizza stone until the cheese bubble. Broil for 2 minutes until the top begins to brown slightly. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.
